Giving and Listening

  • You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.

“Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another.”  Romans 12:10, AMP

  • Those who do not plan for the future will have to live through it anyway.

“Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”  Psalm 90:12, NIV

  • From what we get, we can make a living; from what we give, however, makes a life.

“One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.”  Proverbs 11:24, NIV

    • Awww…thank you sister. Now most of it is copied from the book I have mentioned beneath…the one called, “Who Am I” I wrote. If it says my name, I definitely wrote it. I felt guilty that you might think I wrote these wonderful little gems! 🙂 I bought this book at the bookstore the other day called, “God’s Little Instruction Book” It’s hardcover and thick..lots of stuff! Love it!

    • Thank you Jessica! You’re a sweetheart! I’m so happy you like it. My other website is more hardcore, hellfire and damnation! LOL!!!! I tell it like it is. I wanted another site that was a peacful get-a-way of God’s comfort. The Bible covers so many aspects of God; the wrath, fury, conviction and the love and kindness. So I wanted to be well-rounded in His word. He is all of these things.

  1. Lyn, I love taking interest in others because at the end of the day it is not about me. It is not about you, but about the man on the cross who sits at the right of the Father. I am a social butterfly by heart and when I learn the heartbeat of others, it is there I find my God-given treasures from God. I love these little promises wrapped by garments of love.

    • I love you’re this way sis! God bless you! Your website always brings me comfort and joy. Every day is about the Lord; for we were made for Him…. our ONLY purpose in life is the live, and move, and have our being in Him…to serve Him. Temptation and worldly things are so much easier to turn down and refuse when we truly begin to (A) fall in love with Him; not just love what we know about Him..but actually fall in love, just like you did with your honey! You couldn’t wait to hear his voice, couldn’t wait to read his notes, couldn’t wait to see him, ate, drank, slept, walked, and talked nothing but him…you were so proud of that man in your life that you couldn’t stop talking about him to everyone. My god, you talked him up so much to everyone, they thought you were with the next thing to Jesus… That’s how we should love the Lord. and (B) when we realize that our purpose wasn’t to lounge around and watch soap operas, walk around on a stage in fancy clothes and high heels to look good, or to be best friends with the world…but to be separate from the world…to stand out amongst the crowd..and be “peculiar”….freaks! LOL When we realize that this is why were given a life, and why our heart beats every day, and why our lungs continue inhaling and exhaling air…then it’s just not that hard. These, I feel, salvation being first, are the keys to a successful, healthy, relationship with the Lord.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
